F. A. Q.

What should I expect at the first session?
During the first session my aim is to get to know you as much as possible, not only to discuss the issue(s) which bring you to counselling at this time but also to get to know you more fully as a person. This I will do by making you feel welcome, comfortable and safe and by a combination of listening to you and asking questions.
I will also outline very clearly what counselling entails, how I work and how we may together consider the best way forward for you, as an individual
.
How many sessions will I need?

This varies according to a number of factors, including you as a person, your objectives, the issue(s) you wish to address and so forth. For some people having an opportunity to speak to a counsellor can achieve a desired outcome within a comparatively few sessions, for others a longer period of time may be necessary. What is best for you will be discussed and reviewed mindful of your individual need. You will never be expected or encouraged to remain in counselling outside of your need or wishes.
